Learn more Download For WindowsHello spellslingers! Blakeizen here with the weekly Saturday morning build for you! Check out the game play on YouTube- Blakeizen's Goblin Calamity. The video showcases the deck in action, with some game play commentary for those interested in picking it up! This is a very good budget list for anyone looking to climb. Look again, it only has 8 rares!
I've been wanting to play Goblins for a while, but when my boy Teflondom told me he was climbing Diamond (now Mythic) at the time with a mono red variant using Cavalcade of Calamity of all things, I had to take a look at it. I took his list, play tested what it was doing and made it more concise while adding a bunch of Goblin flavor (Eww.) and came to this list. I present to you: Blakeizen's Goblin Calamity.
I'm not sure if you guys have noticed but, Haste is a fantastic keyword to have on a card in a meta filled with Baby Teferi. Legion Warboss is such a card versus those builds, and will absolutely demand a board clear in 2 turns. Let's not forget, the token is a 1/1 and will trigger Cavalcade of Calamity, making the clock even faster. Even if you trigger Mentor onto the token, when it attacked it was a 1/1, and still triggers our namesake enchantment.
Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin is a really cool card here as well. Though not as fast as Legion Warboss, if you've attacked with this guy two times you've probably already won the game, which is nuts to think about. You can attack with both Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin and Legion Warboss with Cavalcade of Calamity down and get all 3 triggers, leaving a 3/4 Krenko, and 3 tokens behind. Cavalcade of Calamity is surprisingly good in a deck that aims to go fast with Hasty Bois and leave a bunch of 1/1's on the board. We're just rewarding ourseves for the thigs we're already doing.
Goblin Warchief finishes up our list of 3-cost Goblins. While not as strong as the first two on his own, he makes your turn 4 scary. With him lowering the cost of your Goblins and giving them haste, you can drop two Legion Warboss and swing for a million. The Goblins are coming for you.
Tin Street Dodger has been an absolute unit in this deck. While not as good as Fanatical Firebrand at removing an enemy creature, but for the low, low cost of one Red, you too can be Unblockable. Who plays defenders anyways (aside from me)? This is very important if you need to chump block some fat creatures with tokens while also keeping a clock on your opponent. With Cavalcade of Calamity down, you're essentially casting a Shock every turn, to your opponent's face.
Fanatical Firebrand is our other 1/1 Hasty Boi, and I KNOW you know this card. Goblin Instigator just gives us more of what we want (Goblins. We want Goblins.) and becomes a very good card when we have a Goblin Warchief on board. I tried not playing this card for a while but we finally hired him to the crew and trimmed some of those higher costed cards to make room for him. He's here to stay for me.

Thanks for reading and checking out the video! A handful of us have been having a blast with this. Yes, it's "mono red aggro" but did you watch Goblin Slayer? I'm a really big fan of tribal decks so when I learned that Goblins could be good, I was all for it. Tell me what you think! A couple of us are playing around with a Goblin Calamity shell and having a good time. I'm a control / combo player at heart so I'm not sure how well I actually play this thing! Let me know what you think and feel free to come hang out with us.
Show me some love and leave a sub! <3 - Blakeizen
