Historic - Naya Field Approach

The idea of this deck originally came from me trying to consistently ramping into Second Sun turn 7 and use cards like Elvish Rejuvenator and Escape to the Wild to draw it the next turn. However, because I was playing ramp it only made sense to play Field of the Dead, and I ended up cutting the "4 ofs" of Second Sun.

After trying Field in G/W, G/B, G/U, Sultai, Bant and Temur, I found that reaching 5 mana fast was pretty easy, and that 5 mana pay offs were better than having more early ramp spells in Uro and Growth spiral. Hour of Promise and Escape to the Wild eats through your deck fast, and just that is enough to completely overwhelm your opponents. However, with all the deck thinning, even if you shuffle your deck after casting Second Sun, you will often draw in before 7 turns, but using Rejuvenator and Escape is often enough to close the gap if you aren't already overwhelming them on board.

The win con is zombies, but Approach has proven to be useful quite often.

There is a sideboard that I use for BO3 if anyone is interested:

I've got Ugins, Abrade and Grafdigger's for one of our problematic matchups: the Jund/GB/Abzan type CoCo Citadel things going around. Ugin is pretty easy to get to and exiling stuff is usually game over. Grafdigger is pretty good at the moment with all the CoCo and Muxus going around.

Rest in Peace is a one of against reanimator, although I don't see much, it pops up. Bojuka Bog is in the main deck, and is easy to fetch with lands, which is why I have Rest in Peace as a one of. Abrade is also cool if they are a God Pharaoh's Gift.

Baffling End is pretty self explanatory

Gideon's Triumph and Settle the Wreckage are there for the Azorius enchantment machups, although I do use Settle against Goblin decks sometimes (I'm not very consistent in my sideboarding). I have also used Ugin in the Azorius Enchantment machup, there's not much them can do to save their stuff.

The "one of" of Approach is for the Mirror, this may sound crazy but Ugin in the mirror just feels a bit useless from my experience. We usually are able to replenish our board etremely fast, so the -0 don't really do much else than delay the situation. In this case Approach can hit them pretty fast. I know I have sideboarded it in other random machups, but I honestly can't remember.

So yeah, still trying to refine this deck, if anyone has any tips, please feel free to make suggestions! I've been having fun with this list, more so than any of the other variants, so I hope you'll enjoy it too.
