Updated my Braids Betrayal Deck
"Liliana and Braids, sitting in a tree, K-I-L-L-I-N-G"
Updated my Braids Betrayal Deck For original version check out the Explorer build here
Everything dies in this deck, and the goal is to gain control of your opponents key creatures and hit them hard before sacrificing them to one of many abilitys/cost with x3 Twisted Fealth and x3 Furnace Reins comboed with a lot of expendable creatures to sacrifice for your own abilities if need be.
Braids, Arisen Nightmare to wear away at the life total and you sneak an attack in when possible. Urabrask's Forge adds more fodder to the field, and is really is an back up plan for the deck especially when you get more than one out. Liliana of the Veil and Annihilating Glare to take care the leftovers or for stalling with early removal.
Most of your creatures come back from the graveyard so if all else fails, sacrifice them to one of the many options
Cult Conscript: A low-cost, recurring creature that can chip away at your opponent’s life total if left unchecked.
Forsaken Miner: Another cheap recurring creature, great for dealing damage, though unfortunately it can't block, limiting its defensive value.
Callous Sell-Sword: Primarily used for its "Burn Together" fling ability, but it also works well as a solid creature in the deck.
Braids, Arisen Nightmare: The deck's namesake and a blast to play. She synergizes beautifully with the deck’s Act of Treason effects and with your recurring creatures and token generation.
Annihilating Glare: A perfect removal spell that allows you to kill your opponent's creatures—especially after stealing them with your other spells.
Corrupted Conviction: Cheap card draw that provides great card advantage, keeping your hand full.
Nowhere to Run: A lifesaver when it comes to dealing with troublesome Hexproof creatures. The -3/-3 can also be extremely useful early game.
Pyroclasm: Great board wipe to reset the field when things get too overwhelming.
Tithing Blade // Consuming Sepulcher: Non-targeted creature removal that also serves as good fodder for Braids' ability.
Urabrask's Forge: Provides recurring creature tokens for Braids to sacrifice and, if left unchecked, can become a win condition over time.
Furnace Reins: Steal an opponent’s creature and, if it hits, gain a treasure to ramp your mana for later turns.
Twisted Fealty: Another theft spell that not only steals a creature but also gives you a Wicker Role token, which adds even more damage when you sacrifice it.
Liliana of the Veil: An incredibly powerful planeswalker that your opponent can’t afford to ignore. She’s a great distraction and adds value through hand disruption and creature removal.
Your goal is to let your opponent develop their board while you systematically remove or steal their key creatures. Early game, rely on your removal spells to keep things manageable until your opponent plays bigger creatures that you can use to your advantage. The combination of Braids, Arisen Nightmare and the various Act of Treason-style spells lets you dominate the midgame by sacrificing their creatures for card draw and damage. Your recurring creatures provide a nice backup aggro plan if needed. Remember to use Liliana of the Veil to disrupt their hand and keep their threats under control.
