The Best Bloomburrow Cards in Standard, According to Popularity

It has been a month, and I can safely say that Bloomburrow has pretty much seeped right into MTG Standard as it is technically intended. In fact, we already say most of the major changes as early as a week post-release. But as per tradition, I wanted to let things simmer a little bit, and see if there are other more subtle changes, or if there are a few surprises left unchecked. And so, I present to everyone, the most popular Bloomburrow cards in MTG Standard meta so far.

(NOTE: All information is collected from technical matches, online discussions, and trending multimedia content. Some of the entries will also be affected by how often they pop up in Aetherhub decklists as well.)

The Top 8 Most Popular Bloomburrow Cards

(one month after release)

8th Spot: Finneas, Ace Archer

image

Dangling at the end of the 8th spot is our token Robin Hood of this plane. He might not have singlehandedly replaced Selesnya Enchantments with Selesnya Rabbits, but he is definitely one of the leading cards that is oriented in both colors. A simple buff, with an extra draw. What more could you ask for?

7th Spot: Seasoned Warrenguard

image

Effectively a 3/2 with just half its (passive) condition. Unlike most of its older variants, however, the act of attacking is what makes it bigger, so you can't use its effect defensively. Still a very solid card in today's MTG Standard nonetheless.

6th Rank: Hop to It

image

Just triple triggers to any triple effects you might want to trifecta into. 'Nuff said.

5th Rank: Heartfire Hero

image

The technical main character of our list, even if not the actual first. This card is an absolute boon (or bane, depending on which side you are on) to the already popular pump-style Mono Red decks over the last few months. Adding this critter just amps up the overall potency, plus making the opponents suffer for its demise without the need to whip up a Callous Sell-Swordimage, though unfortunately (thankfully?) not as built-in as a Cacophony Scampimage.

4th Rank: Valley Questcaller

image

Before the Mightcaller, comes the Questcaller. Not as threatening as its green counterpart, its Lord effect is at least a good supporting addition for the aggro theme it is built for. But perhaps the much better function of this card is its scry effect, providing you with a much-needed deck fixing anytime your cheap weenie critters land on the field.

3rd Place: Pawpatch Recruit

image

A great basic card that punishes your opponent's removal at best, or mitigating your losses at worst. With its stats and other abilities, even doubling it up never feels like a bad mana investment at all. It forms the critical backbone of many green-oriented aggro decks post-2024 Standard rotation.

2nd Place: Valley Mightcaller

image

Valley Mightcaller might as well be a one-drop Quirion Beastcallerimage in the decks it is built for. It may not have the same after-field value, but it can quickly become a threat with its built-in trample. If nothing else, it is a great bait for removal early on, allowing you to prioritize the other creature types that it can trigger with.

1st Place: Manifold Mouse

image

Ability versatility, nice, balanced cost, plus a chance to double up the card itself for the exact same cost when the opportunity presents itself. Even during previews, its straightforward effect already had players expecting the types of niches that Manifold Mouse will fall into. In fact, even outside Standard, it found homes in a lot of decks that share its aggro theme. Definitely a power mainstay from this point forward.
