To kick off 2025, we're returning to the fan-favorite plane of Innistrad. So, not only are we getting a reprint at long last, it's available in multiple treatments and a serialized version.

Aetherdrift
Aetherdrift Release Date
Aetherdrift releases on February 14, 2025 (2/14/25)
Main Set Info
Aetherdrift is a high-speed, winner-takes-all "death race" happening over three planes. Of course, it's going to feature vehicles heavily. Judging by the few cards we saw and some art, it's pretty clear that Kaladesh is one of the three planes. Another is said to be a plane we're familiar with that has dinosaurs, but it has never had a complete set take place there.
The first thing that comes to mind is Muraganda (which has never had a dedicated set) but is known for its dinosaurs. It has appeared on cards from other sets, like Muraganda Petroglyphs and Invasion of Muraganda // Primordial Plasm, but it hasn't been the primary focus of a full-fledged expansion. But it may be just a little too primitive for a racing theme. So, we shall see.
Each color pair is a different racing team, and we have Goblin, Zombie, and even Insect teams trying to win the "Aetherspark," which is the prize. It's been said that this is not exactly a tribal set, but it's cool that the Ravnica guilds will all be represented as a team. We also know that Chandra is competing in the race to win the Aetherspark for her lover, Nissa.

Tarkir: Dragonstorm
Tarkir: Dragonstorm Release Date
Tarkir: Dragonstorm releases on April 11, 2025 (4/11/25)
Main Set Info
After nearly a decade, MTG is going back to Tarkir. This new set is going to build on the things from before - Dragons and three-color factions. Story-wise, apparently, Sarkhan has gone back in time and changed the timeline, meaning there are dragons on the plane again. However, Sarkhan has been desparked and is a legendary creature. Ugin is coming back as a planeswalker.
New and old Dragons and many of the three color clans that players are familiar with are said to be making a comeback, too. This includes Ugin, who is still a planeswalker. We don't have any cards to look at yet, but we have some previews of the new "Dragonstorm" treatment, which don't have the text.
Tarkir: Dragonstorm Spoilers
We don't have any spoilers yet, but when we do, you'll find them here.
Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy Release Date
The Final Fantasy MTG set releases on June 13, 2025 (6/13/25)
Main Set Info
We don't have much info on the Final Fantasy set yet. However, we do know that it will span all 16 Final Fantasy games. There are also several iconic characters showing up as well. These include Terra (who will surely be Esper), Lightning Farron, Noctis Lucis Caelum, and Cloud Strife (who might care about equipment). Several gameplay elements, such as summons (powerful creatures that can be called upon to aid in battle), monsters, legendary weapons, chocobos, and behemoths, have also been confirmed.
Art for the set will feature prominent MTG and Final Fantasy artists. Here are some of the previewed art pieces so far:

Edge of Eternities
Edge of Eternities Release Date
Edge of Eternities Releases on August 1, 2025 (8/1/25)
Main Set Info
Edge of Eternities is a spaced-themed fantasy set that focuses on the cosmos. We know it will introduce new planets and races, as well as feature spaceships. And for some reason, Wales. WOTC made a point to stress the fact that the set had some deep science and fantasy world-building.
Edge of Eternities Spoilers
As of now, we don't have any official EOE cards to look at now.
SpiderMan MTG Set
SpiderMan MTG Release Date
We don't have an official release date for the SpiderMan MTG set yet. However, judging by the "one set every two-month pattern" of what we do for the 2025 MTG release schedule, it'll probably be October of 2025.
Main Set Info
WOTC didn't have much info for us on the Spiderman set. In fact, all they said was that this would be the first of Marvel sets, definitely not last.
SpiderMan MTG Spoilers
No spoilers out yet, but as soon as they drop, you'll find them here. Check out the recently revealed Marvel Secret Lairs for an idea of what may be to come.
Unannounced Universes Beyond
This UB set is, as mentioned, "unannounced." So, we don't know much about it. However, when it was mentioned in the preview panel they said it was an "Amazing IP, and the set has "amazing art." Keep your eye out in the future for more info on this crossover, which should drop near the end of 2025.
SpongeBob SquarePants MTG Secret Lair
WOTC ended the preview panel with the image you see above, sending many people into a frenzy. Personally, I love Spongebob. However, I can see how it doesn't much jive with Magic. I can't imagine what mechanics or card reskins we'll get with this, but I hope they're cool. Comment below and let me know what you think.
