Description

For the most part, I've intentionally avoided promoting my Arclight Phoenix lists too much. This is my secret sauce, and I like to keep a few tricks up my sleeve. But I've recently been playing less MTG, and I figured I'd give out the most recent update.

Check out this GAMEPLAY VIDEO from 7 days after the card was released. At this time, most people thought the card wasn't going to see any play. It was worth less than 2 dollars, and relegated to the jank pile. Here's another video from 13 days after the card was released. And this was early gameplay. The deck is significantly stronger now, after almost two years of refinement.

You'll see that the oldest precursors to this (back in 2018 when Arclight Phoenix was first released) had write-ups, and the more recent ones don't. The reason- I've wanted it to remain unique. Its extremely powerful, and has brought me to mythic several times, including in historic.

The deck can be very difficult to play. Some key points:

Finale of Promise triggers 3 spells and will bring out Phonix with one cast. Similarly, Finale of Promise will buff a Kiln Fiend to 10 damage (with trample if you bring back a Crash Through as your sorcery).

Irencrag Pyromancer is the weakest link. Its EXTREMELY GOOD in this deck, but that's the card most likekly to be switched out for an upgrade in future set releases. Here's how much I value this card - I took out Lightning Strike to bring in Irencrag...

19 Mountains is enough. Trust me. Use cantrips if you start the game with 1 mana. Its ok, you cycle through the deck VERY quick.

Expansion Explosion + Tormenting Voice/Thrill of Possibility = Pay 4 Mana, Draw 4 Cards, DISCARD ONLY 1 CARD (Expansion avoids the negative effect in the copy).

Enjoy the turn 4 kills.
