The deck is based off of CovertGoBlue's Golgari Midrange IKO deck.
It has taken me to Mythic rank. The MVP of this deck is Vivien, Monster's Advocate simply to get the beasties out onto the field. As of yet I am having trouble finding value with both Chevill, Bane of Monsters
and Fiend Artisan
as they tend to be magnets. I guess in that way they help to pave the way.
I used Paradise Druid
most of the time as a safe place to mutate onto with either Dirge Bat
or Gemrazer
. However the majority of the deck is mutatable.
There wasn't any time that I have needed to use Fiend Artisan's sacrafice ability or the second loyalty power of Vivien, Monster's Advocate. Just didn't see any worth in doing so with those two, so left the sacrificing to Vraska, Golgari Queen
to remove the various critter tokens from Vivien and Garruk.
The deck also tends to do fairly well against Mono Red if you happen to get a decent draw.
