Description

I recently recoverd some of my old decks from decks from around 1994-1995. Feeling a bit nostalgic, I decided it would be fun to add it for historical purposes. Note: Stip mine is now limited to one, but this deck ran 4 copies as it was legal at the time.

About mtghog

I am an old school pack cracker from the Beta era. My first cards were a starter deck and 3 to 4 booster packs that I purchased from a sports card shop when I was in high school. I have this faded memory of the whole purchase costing around $17. I activly played magic until about 1995 when my military career consumed most of my time. I continued to collect cards though 1996, albeit at a much slower pace. In ~1998 I sold my sets and gave my would be brother in law a handfull of decks and random cards to get him started.

To my surprise, he kept the decks roughly the same as when they were given to him. He recently returned the cards to me as I started getting back into magic, so it has been a fun trip down memory lane. While I was being nostaligic, I thought it would be interesting to share with folks just what everyday janky decks were like back in 1994-1995. While I did have better decks back in the days those were more valuable and subsequently sold and lost to time.

Enjoy the walk down memory lane.
