The One Ring Found & Confirmed Real!
The MTG/LOTR crossover set, Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth, has been buzzing recently. Most hype comes from including a serialized version of The One Ring
card. Keeping with the lore of Tolkien, WOTC created only one - A true one-of-one, The One Ring. Soon after being announced, the bounty for the ring jumped to over two million dollars. Many people doubted if it would ever be found... Well, the One Ring has been found and confirmed to be authentic. Here's what we know so far.
The One Ring Found
The One Ring has been found. And authenticated by the grading company PSA, who posted the confirmation online earlier this morning. It has also been confirmed by Wizards of the Coast themselves via Twitter. According to a Wall Street Journal post, the person who found it wishes to remain anonymous. It also seems that the card is in the possession of the New-York based company "Dave & Adam’s," who will sell it for the buyer.
As you may know, there were several open offers for the card. The highest came from a game shop in Spain that offered two million euros to whoever was lucky enough to pull the card. With the card officially found, only time will tell what the final value will be when the card sells.
How Do We Know The Card Is Real?
Several fake One Ring cards have been made, mainly as a joke. So, how do we know for sure that this one is real? Well, it's been confirmed by the grading company and Wizards of the Coast. Several sources confirm the authenticity, but the card also looks slightly different than any of the fakes. The main difference is that it seems much darker.

Conclusion
I must say that I'm a little surprised the card was found so quickly, and the news will send ripples of excitement through the MTG community. I'm curious as to what happens now. I imagine the price of collector boosters for Tales of Middle-Earth will tank now, but we'll see. Serialized cards like this are the future of Magic, so what happens now will be very important for the game's future. Please make no mistake; WOTC will do something like this again.
