Top Standard Decks - February 2025

We are just a few days away from Aetherdrift, are you guys enjoying fresh ideas from pre-release brews so far? As for the Standard meta right now, we have at least one color combination cut since the last rotation back into the fray. Plus, the flavors have diverged from some of the more straightforward Dimir variants that made the cut last month. Of course, regular contenders like Boros and Jeskai are still available, but you might notice a slight bump in similar-ish basic template card combos (and therefore color combinations) that might have completely different supporting techs altogether.
Standard Tournament Meta - Top 8 Decks
Gruul Aggro continues the tradition of switching places with the top meta deck of the month as February comes in, leaving the top contender dropping a place below. I mean, this goes for all of the entries within the top 8, but I would have expected a bit more of a shakeup based on the teaser I stated earlier. Then again, Simic Beanstalk is no longer here and has essentially dropped from the top 15 places entirely, in order to welcome a newer Esper variant to directly challenge the Dimir Midrange and Aggro builds we had previously.

In Bo3 we see a more apparent return to form for Esper (in a different brew, of course) as it snatches up the top position from the recently revived Golgari only two months after MTG Foundations boosted it. Last month's Dimir is still this month's Dimir, almost down to the percentages and composition, while Jeskai Convoke got booted out completely. We then find Golgari itself going down to the 6th spot, and another Gruul entry (notably the Delirium variant) pushing its way to the list back again at 8th.

In Bo1 we generally see the exact same contenders as last month, Boros, Mono Red, double Mono Black, Orzhov, and Azorius. However, the Mono White was replaced from last month's control variant with the current lifegain variant, and the Dimir Faeries entry was kicked out in favor of the new and improved Esper build that we have already been mentioning in tourneys and in Bo3.
